Walt Disney World Expands Transportation Restrictions at Disney Springs Starting June 28th

Walt Disney World has confirmed that restrictions on transportation from Disney Springs to resort hotels will become permanent beginning June 28, 2026. These rules apply not only to buses but also to the Sassagoula River Cruise, requiring guests to have a valid reservation such as a hotel stay or Advance Dining Reservation. The policy aims to close a loophole where off-site guests exploited free parking at Disney Springs and used complimentary transportation to access resort amenities without paying theme park parking fees. On-site guests and Annual Passholders with reservations will still be able to use the services, while those without valid purposes will be directed to park at theme parks instead. The move has generated some controversy among fans who view it as an inconvenience, though the author argues it is a positive step toward managing capacity and ensuring paying resort guests have priority access to amenities. Disney Springs parking availability remains limited during peak times, further supporting the need for such restrictions.
