The World Celebration reflecting pool at EPCOT has been refilled and is back in operation after a brief maintenance closure. The water feature, located outside the Imagination! pavilion near World Nature, was temporarily drained for routine upkeep. Disney crews repainted the basin surface and carefully cleaned and rearranged the dark river rocks at the bottom before refilling it with water. Prior to repainting, all coins tossed in by guests over time were collected from the pool. Those coins are periodically gathered from fountains across Walt Disney World and one hundred percent of the funds are donated to charities such as Make-A-Wish and Give Kids The World Village. The entrance fountain at EPCOT’s main gate was also briefly turned off for similar maintenance work. With the pool operational again, the pathways around Imagination! and World Nature are looking clean and well-maintained once more.
