Anaheim Tourism Hits Historic High With 26.5 Million Visitors This Year

Southern California’s Anaheim has achieved a remarkable tourism milestone, welcoming a record-breaking 26.5 million visitors who generated significant economic impact for the city. The visitor economy reached unprecedented heights, providing local residents with tax relief equivalent to $8,940 per household through increased revenue. This surge reflects a broader shift in travel trends where modern vacationers seek destinations offering continuous experiences and entertainment throughout the year rather than relying on single peak seasons. Mike Waterman of Visit Anaheim noted that Disneyland Resort alone attracts attendance comparable to hosting a Super Bowl daily, highlighting the massive scale of tourism activity. The city’s success was driven by major conventions like NAMM and VidCon, concerts at the Honda Center, Anaheim Ducks hockey games, and new dining options in Downtown Disney District. City officials are calling this period Anaheim’s Golden Decade, with transformative projects including DisneylandForward expansion and the OCVIBE entertainment district preparing for the 2028 Olympic Games. These multi-billion dollar investments position Anaheim to continue shattering tourism records and maintaining its status as a dynamic year-round destination.
