Bourbon Steak Remains Closed After Kitchen Fire at Disney World Dolphin

Guests planning meals at Bourbon Steak by Michael Mina during their upcoming Walt Disney World vacation must make alternative arrangements because the signature steakhouse at the Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel remains closed. Nearly a month after a kitchen fire occurred on June 25, officials state the restaurant will stay shut for an indefinite period while essential repairs are completed. The fire required evacuating both the establishment and parts of the Dolphin Hotel, though Disney confirmed the blaze was contained to the restaurant without damaging the building itself. Ventilation systems successfully expelled smoke outside as designed, protecting the wider structure from harm. Reservations held by guests have been cancelled with emails directing them to other dining options across the Swan and Dolphin Resort properties. The resort’s official website encourages visitors to explore the twenty-two remaining dining locations while restoration work progresses. Although the restaurant’s own site suggests a near-future reopening, current availability indicates closures extending through mid-September unless repair timelines accelerate unexpectedly. Bourbon Steak, which recently replaced Shula’s Steak House, had quickly gained popularity for its premium steaks and elegant ambiance, making this extended closure disappointing for many travelers.
