Cinderella Castle Gets Classic Refresh at Magic Kingdom Park

The iconic Cinderella Castle at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom has received a stunning makeover that restores its classic 1971 appearance. This extensive project involved multiple teams from Imagineering and Operations working together to repaint the landmark with deeper blues, elegant stonework, and enhanced gold accents. Workers drained the castle moat and used seven boom lifts to reach heights of 150 feet while painting over three months. Over 600 gallons of paint were applied to refresh the 180-foot structure without disrupting guest experiences on Main Street. The restoration honors the castle’s original design while ensuring it remains a magical centerpiece for future visitors. This once-in-a-career opportunity for Cast Members resulted in a sparkling icon ready to create countless memories.
