Disney Celebrates 70 Years of Patriotic Military Flyovers at Its Parks

Disney has released a new video commemorating over seven decades of military flyovers above its theme parks, highlighting a long-standing tradition that began on Disneyland’s opening day in 1955. The retrospective showcases the partnership between Disney Parks and the United States military through various milestone celebrations, anniversaries, and patriotic holidays throughout the years. From the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds soaring over EPCOT in 2023 to aircraft flying during Disneyland’s inaugural broadcast, these aerial displays have become a cherished part of special events. Recent Independence Day festivities featured the U.S. Air Force Reserve’s 920th Rescue Wing performing flyovers at both Magic Kingdom and EPCOT as part of Walt Disney World’s Fourth of July celebrations. This tradition continues to honor service members while creating magical moments for guests above some of the world’s most iconic theme parks, proving that the most memorable views can sometimes be found soaring high overhead.
