Disney has officially ordered a pilot for a reboot of The Mickey Mouse Club, which will air on Disney+. The classic variety show originally debuted in 1955 and has a legendary history of launching young talent into superstardom. Production on the pilot is scheduled to begin this month in Los Angeles, with Disney partnering with Fulwell Entertainment to produce the series. The reimagined series aims to showcase today’s most talented young performers, where music, innovation, and self-expression take center stage. Executive producers include Fulwell co-founder Ben Winston alongside Ashley Edens, Emma Conway, and Dave Piendak. The reboot has already assembled a highly talented ensemble cast of young actors, singers, and performers, including Hudson Stone, Casey Trotter, and Brooklynn Pitts from upcoming Camp Rock 3. This reboot marks the fifth major era for the franchise, following the original show created by Walt Disney himself, the first color revival, the revival that launched careers of Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake, and a short-lived digital version. With production kicking off in Los Angeles, Disney fans will not have to wait long to see if this new crop of talent will yield the next generation of music and movie icons.
