Disney held a major showcase at the D23 expo in Anaheim, California, revealing twelve significant announcements for its theme parks. The Carousel of Progress received a makeover with new scenes and animatronics, while a Cars-themed area is arriving at Magic Kingdom’s Frontierland. Villains Land will open at Magic Kingdom in August 2024, featuring a Maleficent roller coaster and an Evil Queen dark ride. Spaceship Earth at EPCOT will receive an upgrade, and Journey Into Imagination will be updated with Figment returning after twenty-eight years. A new Monstropolis land from Monsters Inc. is scheduled for Hollywood Studios in 2027, alongside a Tropical Americas expansion at Animal Kingdom. The Yeti in Expedition Everest will be repaired and return to operation, while Tomorrowland at Disneyland undergoes a massive update. Three beloved shows are returning to Disneyland Resort in 2027, including Remember Dreams Come True and World of Color. Avengers Campus is expanding with new attractions, and a Coco-themed boat ride is under construction at Disney California Adventure.
