Disney World Debuts Monstropolis Restaurants in 2027 Ahead of Schedule

Walt Disney World is preparing to unveil the Dark Avenue section of Monstropolis in 2027, featuring themed dining experiences inspired by Monsters Inc. Harryhausen’s Restaurant will offer sushi and ramen dishes with monster-inspired twists, while Archie’s Scare Pig Pizza will serve quick-service meals reminiscent of college hangouts. Both venues are transforming spaces formerly occupied by Muppets Courtyard attractions, with the restaurants aiming to create “grossly fun” food that appeals to both monsters and humans. The culinary teams are developing unique menu items like eyeball-shaped fish cakes and purple frozen Blort drinks, though some dishes may require human diners to adapt their palates. A new stage show called Welcome to Monstropolis will also debut at the Glob Theater, featuring Audio-Animatronics and mixed media technology. This phased opening strategy aims to build excitement and manage crowds before the larger Monsters Inc. Doors Coaster attraction opens in 2028. The new dining concepts represent a significant expansion of themed entertainment at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, promising immersive experiences that blend familiar flavors with fantastical creature elements.
