A fire alarm evacuation at Ale and Compass restaurant in Disney’s Yacht Club Resort was handled with calm professionalism by cast members. Guests were quietly guided out of the building and directed to a safe gathering area near the lighthouse. The evacuation lasted approximately 40 minutes before diners were allowed to return to their tables. Upon re-entry, cast members promptly refilled water, replaced cooled food items, and leadership personally thanked guests for their patience. Although the entrees showed some quality decline due to the kitchen disruption, the restaurant fully comped the entire meal including gratuity. Disney policy ensures that cast members still receive the automatic gratuity rate during such unforeseen incidents. The overall experience, while delayed, remained positive due to Disney’s exceptional guest service recovery efforts.
