Guest Caught Swimming in Seven Seas Lagoon at Walt Disney World

A guest at Walt Disney World was caught swimming in Seven Seas Lagoon near the Polynesian Village Resort, violating Disney’s strict no-swimming rules. A TikTok video captured the person swimming late at night near the resort dock and climbing out using a crew-only ladder, with the videographer joking about too many cocktails as a possible cause. Despite the potentially humorous nature of the clip, swimming in the lagoon is extremely dangerous due to alligators present in the waterway. Disney has posted numerous warning signs around its lakes following the tragic 2016 death of 2-year-old Lane Thomas Graves, who was killed by an alligator at the same location. Hundreds of alligators have since been removed from Walt Disney World property in an effort to protect guests. Resort guests have access to designated swimming pools that provide a safer alternative without the risks associated with entering the lagoon.
