The second H2O Glow After Hours event at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park was cut short after just 19 minutes due to lightning. Guests were forced out of the water and attractions closed when severe weather warnings arrived during the party. Despite the early end, attendees enjoyed special character floats, music, and dancing with Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers before the storm hit. The event typically runs for three hours starting at 6:00pm with wristbands distributed upon entry to control crowd access. Lightning struck around 8:19pm causing immediate evacuation from water areas while guests in beach shacks could remain sheltered. Organizers advised those unwilling to wait out the storm to return the next day for potential ticket assistance without refunds. Disney’s policy states that water parks are subject to weather closures and all tickets are nontransferable and nonrefundable regardless of circumstances. The experience highlights how quickly weather can disrupt planned entertainment at outdoor theme park events across Florida.
