A routine drive through Walt Disney World took a frightening turn on Monday night when a man pointed a handgun at a Disney bus driver following a brief traffic dispute. Deputies received reports around 9 p.m. on October 5 that the driver of a white Jeep had pointed a firearm at a Disney bus on East Buena Vista Drive near Bonnet Creek Parkway. A witness stated the Jeep was stopped at a green light, prompting the Disney bus driver behind it to honk the horn. The witness reported that the man retrieved a black semi-automatic handgun from the Jeep and pointed it toward the Disney bus driver before the vehicle continued to Disney’s Port Orleans Resort. The driver was identified as 25-year-old David Charlot of Kissimmee, who claimed he was working as a DoorDash driver making a food delivery. Investigators reviewed video from a camera aboard the Disney bus, which showed Charlot pointing the handgun toward the bus driver. Charlot was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a firearm and was being held on a $10,000 bond following the incident, with no injuries reported in connection with the confrontation.
