Walt Disney World Attractions Undergo Major Updates and Expansions

Walt Disney World is experiencing significant transformations as summer heat and rain coincide with rapid changes across its resorts. Magic Kingdom’s Carousel of Progress closes on July 5, 2026, to undergo refurbishment and introduce a new timeline starting in the 1960s, featuring animatronic Walt Disney. Frontierland sees dramatic modifications with Rivers of America being replaced by construction for the future Piston Peak National Park expansion. Hollywood Studios continues evolving with The Walt Disney Studios area opening September 14th, while Monstropolis land transforms the former Muppets section.
