The popular Art of Animation Resort at Walt Disney World is set for a significant renovation beginning in 2027. The refurbishment will transform the Little Mermaid-themed rooms with new under-the-sea prints, Murphy beds, and seashell furniture while maintaining the immersive movie theme. Family suites featuring Cars, Finding Nemo, and Lion King themes will also undergo updates during this phased project. Disney Imagineering is collaborating with facilities teams to ensure the magical atmosphere remains intact throughout the renovations. Additionally, the resort’s Skyliner will close for annual maintenance in January 2027, with complimentary bus service provided as an alternative transportation option. Beyond Art of Animation, Disney is also developing new properties including Lakeshore Lodge on the former River Country water park site. These developments indicate continued investment in Walt Disney World’s resort infrastructure and guest experience improvements.
