Disney Upgrades Trash Cans at EPCOT with Solar-Powered Units and Foot Pedals

New trash cans have appeared at EPCOT, marking a significant upgrade to the park’s waste management system. These innovative units feature foot pedals for hands-free operation and are powered by solar energy. The solar technology allows the bins to compact trash internally and signals when they are full through an indicator light. Originally deployed in the World Showcase area, Disney has confirmed that these modern units will soon expand to other parks, Disney Springs, water parks, and ESPN Wide World of Sports throughout the year. While traditionally used for eating during festivals, these new bins represent a practical improvement to guest experience. The announcement reflects Disney’s ongoing commitment to enhancing operational efficiency while maintaining its iconic atmosphere.
