Walt Disney World is making significant progress on the Monstropolis land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, with plans to open portions of the attraction ahead of schedule in 2027. The new area will replace the former Muppets Courtyard and feature several reimagined venues including Archie’s Scare Pig Pizza and Harryhausen’s restaurant. Imagineers revealed that humans will be invited to experience a new show called Welcome to Monstropolis at the Glob Theater, where Mike Wazowski and James P. Sullivan will host guests. The attraction includes advanced Audio-Animatronics technology and mixed media presentations that go beyond traditional screen-based entertainment. Construction is underway on the Monsters Inc Doors Coaster which will be built backstage in what was previously Cast Member parking areas. The phased opening strategy aims to gradually introduce guests to the monster world while managing crowd expectations before the full land debut.
