Artist Turns Pet Photos into Adorable Disney Animated Animals. Get ready to say “Awwww!” a lot in this post.

Dutch illustrator, Isa Bredt, started drawing pet submissions as classic 2D animated “Disney-fied” characters and the artwork is adorable. Bredt refers to this practice as “disneyfication” and created an Instagram account dedicated to featuring her work. The drawings have recently gone viral online and it’s very clear why!

“Pet disneyfications is something I did very sporadically in my free time for about 5 years,” Bredt shared when speaking with Bored Panda. “I started because I was and still am a big fan of both drawing animals and the old Disney style.”

She went not say she is not a Disney animator, but wanted to practice the iconic 2D animation style associated with the House of Mouse and offered to do free drawings with photo submissions from fellow Reddit users.

“I am just a very big fan. The Lion King is my all time favorite movie, I used to watch it daily as a child. I adore the old animal movies; Lady and the Tramp, 101 Dalmatians, the Aristocats. There was a subreddit where you could offer free art to people. I wanted to practice the Disney style, so I offered free drawings for people who would send me pictures of their pets.”

“I did this a few times and people really enjoyed it, though I wasn’t very good yet,” she explained. “Then, last summer, I decided to take on commissions as a summer job because I didn’t want to work in the food service industry again, and it went well enough that I decided to create an Instagram and do the commissions as a side job.”

Bredt’s work is “paws”itively adorable and features many kinds of animals, but a good chunk of the work featured Cats and Dogs from many backgrounds. Some opportunities are more candid than others, but we could easily see that the drawings seem to jump right out of classic Disney films!

Disney’s Electrical Water Pageant Will Be Temporarily Unavailable When WDW Reopens

Electrical Water Pageant

Disney’s Electrical Water Pageant will be temporarily unavailable when Walt Disney World reopens!

The Electrical Water Pageant is a 15 minute nighttime aquatic parade at the Magic Kingdom that Disney describes as a show with “whimsical sea creatures sailing across the Seven Seas Lagoon to classic Disney tunes.”

Unfortunately, with the phased reopening of Walt Disney World, many shows, experiences, and parades, including the Electrical Water Pageant, will be unavailable upon reopening. These unfortunate delays in the opening of shows is to limit the gathering of crowds while COVID-19 concerns are still in place.

While the phased reopening of Walt Disney World won’t be exactly how we’re used to enjoying the parks, we’re just ready to be back at the “happiest place on Earth!” We’ll also be looking forward to the shows and experiences coming back at a safer time, including this “Underwater World of Mystery” (Electrical Water Pageant).

Disney World Photopass Photographers no Longer Using Guests Phones/Cameras

Walt Disney World is reopening next month but not without some changes. Among the new health and safety measures in place is one specifically to protect Cast Members: they can no longer use your phone or camera to take your picture.

According to the Orlando Sentinel:

“Disney has already said it’s eliminating parades, character meet-and-greets and fireworks, all of which would draw major crowds at theme parks when it first reopens.

Don’t ask a cast member to take a photograph with your phone either. Employees will politely decline.”

PhotoPass photographers will still be available to take your pictures but they’re no longer able to use your phone or camera. So if guests want to have those photos, they will have to purchase them.

Disney’s PhotoPass is a completely digital system that allows Guests to collect and view their photos in their Disney account on the My Disney Experience app before ever having to go to the shop and get them printed. And by using Magic Bands, those photos can be uploaded to Guests’ accounts in an almost contactless exchange.

“That’s how serious Disney is taking this,” said Cast Member Union representative Eric Clinton while addressing Cast Members. “That’s a very different Disney World you all worked at back in March.”

The phased reopening of Disney World‘s theme parks begins July 11. We will continue to update with more information as we receive it.
