Petition For Disney To Stop Casting POC Meet and Greet Characters with White Entertainers Goes Viral

Petition For Disney To Stop Casting POC Meet and Greet Characters with White Entertainers Goes Viral. Some Disney Parks fans are not happy with how Disney has been “whitewashing” many of the meet and greet characters found in the theme parks around the world. So much so, that it has sparked a petition online to only cast POC entertainers in roles such as Black Panther, Jasmine and Aladdin, Moana, and more.

The creator of the petition writes: “Disney claims to care about people of color, but they continue to cast white men and women in fake spray tans for these particular roles. Important characters such as; Jasmine, Pocahontas, Moana, Black Panther, Li Shang, and Aladdin, within the Disney entertainment arenas around the world, need to be played by the people of color they were brought to life by. It’s extremely disrespectful to the community of color and it needs to stop. Young kids come to the parks looking forward to meeting these characters, aka their personal heroes, and are instead, sadly greeted by white men and women in cheap spray tans. Disney has more than enough monetary resources and beautiful actors to choose from, there is absolutely no reason as to why this should be allowed to continue. So please sign this petition in hopes of making these much needed changes a reality. ”

Currently the petition has 19,658 signatures out of the requested 25,000, with a high chance that many more will be added to the roster by the time you read through this article.

We know entertainment is a tough business to be in, but this never should have been an issue in the first place. There are thousands of entertainers that audition year after year for these roles and though many entertainers in the parks fill multiple face characters roles per their job description, roadblocks should be kept in place to allow for diversity amongst the Entertainment Cast Members, particularly in roles for a POC characters from the films and shows. There is no reason to replace characters with various ethnic backgrounds out of convenience with entertainers that do not share that same heritage.

Have you had this issue when visiting the Disney Parks? Does it ruin the magic for you and your family when a character is blatantly not represented by the proper actor/actress? Then you can sign the petition and support the cause by CLICKING HERE to let your voice be heard.

Disney’s Electrical Water Pageant Will Be Temporarily Unavailable When WDW Reopens

Electrical Water Pageant

Disney’s Electrical Water Pageant will be temporarily unavailable when Walt Disney World reopens!

The Electrical Water Pageant is a 15 minute nighttime aquatic parade at the Magic Kingdom that Disney describes as a show with “whimsical sea creatures sailing across the Seven Seas Lagoon to classic Disney tunes.”

Unfortunately, with the phased reopening of Walt Disney World, many shows, experiences, and parades, including the Electrical Water Pageant, will be unavailable upon reopening. These unfortunate delays in the opening of shows is to limit the gathering of crowds while COVID-19 concerns are still in place.

While the phased reopening of Walt Disney World won’t be exactly how we’re used to enjoying the parks, we’re just ready to be back at the “happiest place on Earth!” We’ll also be looking forward to the shows and experiences coming back at a safer time, including this “Underwater World of Mystery” (Electrical Water Pageant).

Disney Mom Creates ‘Up’ Themed Playhouse for her Kids. Lately, a lot of Disney fans have had a bit of extra time on their hands and Disney Mom Candace, decided she would tackle a DIY project that had been on her mind. Candace decided to paint their family playhouse to look like Carl and Ellie’s house from Disney-Pixar’s Up.

“We bought the playhouse last year and I kept thinking about painting it like this. Finally I had the time to motivation to make it happen!” shared Candace in a post to their family Instagram account: @epicfamilyquests. “This was probably one of my favorite photoshoots to do, because of all the work put into it.”

Check out the posts shared by @epicfamilyquests of their adventures with their new “Up” playhouse:

Do you have a favorite character from Up?? ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ Mine is tied between Kevin and Doug ? I wish they had talking collars in real life! ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ This was probably one of my favorite photoshoots to do, because of all the work put into it. We bought the playhouse last year and I kept thinking about painting it like this. Finally I had the time to motivation to make it happen! ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ I bought Behr paint from Home Depot and started in. Took about 3 days (thanks to rain) and it was finally complete! ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ My husband bought balloons from Party City and we had to be pretty quick. Unfortunately 3 of the 15 balloons popped before we could even dress the kids! ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ I also have a video of the kids playing and acting out scenes from the movie. Can’t wait to share!! ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ I plan to make a blog post if anyone else wants to copy our playhouse idea, but even painting it different colors makes it so fun. Glad it’s finally complete and now the kids can enjoy it even more.

Do you recognize any of the scenes they are acting out?? ?⠀ ⠀ Wanted to share this as it was too cute to watch during the photoshoot. They love acting scenes out together, plus Jack’s favorite word is “No” just like Carl ?⠀ ⠀ If you missed my house painting updates, check out my new “Up House” highlight in my bio. I show from start to finish. Was such a fun project ??⠀ ⠀ Thank you for those who followed along ❤⠀ ⠀ #pixarup #uppixar #pixar #adventureisoutthere #disneycosplay #disneybound #disneybounding #wildernessexplorer #uphouse #disneypic #disneyphotos #disneymagicmoments #disneystrong #disneyfamily #disneyphotography #disneymagic #disneylifestyle #ohmydisney #abc7eyewitness #ilovedisney #disneyaddicts #カールじいさんの空飛ぶ家 #ディズニーに行きたい #ディズニーリゾート #ディズニーコーデ #ディズニー好きな人と仲良くなりたい #ディズニー好き #ディズニー好きな人と繋がりたい #ピクサープレイタイム #ディズニーバウンド @disneyfamily @pixar @kellyclarksonshow @petedocter
